Having taken on the world’s most notorious retail giant in his 2005 documentary “Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price,” filmmaker Robert Greenwald is setting his sights on the private equity industry.

The video is part of a campaign by Brave New Films to educate the public on the destructive role of private equity in the American economy. Private equity firms generate immense profits by acquiring publicly traded companies through leveraged buyouts, taking them private in order to restructure them for long term profitability, and reselling them as public entities. In the process, these firms often gut the workforces of the companies they acquire, laying off workers, cutting wages and restricting medical benefits for employees.

Now join us in the fight. Screen the War On Greed series!
